The first meetings were held in a cafe in the city, Vicat Street, then in a room of the CRDP and later in a room of the parish of Saint-Jacques.
Financially, only the contribution of modest contributions made the club live. Then the mineral exchanges helped consolidate the finances and organize a more stable development of the association.
The first Bourse was born in 1973, at the Sports Palace, thanks to the initiative of a member of the club:
Philippe GLASTRE. It was not until 1979 that it became an annual tradition that would not stop.
About this time a room was found under the old school of medicine of Grenoble, rue François Raoult. Materials and documentation are reported or purchased, and monthly public meetings are held to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge on different themes such as mineralogy, geology, vulcanology and palaeontology etc ...
Some nature-loving members participate in various creations of federations now famous for example the FFAMP which is the French Federation of Amateurs of Mineralogy and Paleontology or the most regional FRAPNA: Rhône-Alpes Federation of Nature Protection.
Today the club is located in Pont-de-Claix and has a hundred members, its salon of minerals, gems and fossils Seyssins attracts an average of 2,000 visitors each year. It is particularly appreciated by enthusiasts because every year there are presented the recent findings of the members and many crystalliers very often friends of the club there hold a stand.
